Members of Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church

Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church provides funeral and memorial services for active members in good standing and their immediate family. This service is free of charge however, donations are accepted. The Pastor or another ordained minister of the church will preside and/or preach the eulogy for the funeral service of the member. If the family requests another minister to perform these services, they would be responsible for all expenses.

Our services praise God for the gift of life, remember and celebrate the life of the departed, and minister to the bereaved.

Arranging a Service

When we experience the loss of a loved one, a funeral ceremony fills several vital needs. Most importantly a funeral gives a support system for family and friends.

  • A funeral service usually takes place within a short time following death, with a public viewing prior to the service.
  • A memorial service, in which remains are not present, may take place at any time suitable for the bereaved.
  • A committal service normally takes place at a cemetery or memorial garden, immediately following a funeral, or take place at a separate time.

Contact the church office (215) 329-5140 to inquire about scheduling the day, time, and location of a service. Depending on the pastor’s availability, we will try to honor the family request. Services are normally held during the week.

The Church Events Coordinator will arrange a meeting with the family to discuss and outline procedures and to help select scriptures and hymns and other components of the service.

The musicians of Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church will serve as requested at funeral services for members and immediate family.

Families may request that an outside musician, soloist, or choir provide all or part of the musical needs for the service. If the latter, the church must be notified 72 hours in advance.

The Pastor maintains the right to deny such requests based on the nature of the request. The family will need to provide the name and contact information for musicians who are not connected to Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church. The Minister of Music will contact the musician to address any preparation that might be needed.

The after-funeral repast is a critical element of the grieving process. It is a meal a funeral where mourners gather and collectively share their sorrow. It offers an opportunity for friends and family to celebrate the deceased life.

Families interested in having a repast at Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church should discuss this the Church Event Coordinator.

Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church will provide for the use of our Fellowship Hall, tables, chairs, garbage bags and a portion of the meal. If you choose to use our facilities we ask for a monetary donation to help offset the costs of the repast.

Please be aware that alcohol of any kind is not permitted on church property.

A representative from Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church will be present during the repast to assist the family.

In lieu of a security deposit, you are held liable for any damages during the funeral and repast.

If you have any other questions, please contact the church office (215) 329-5140.
